Nawlins jazz flute player Eluard Burt passed this week. We did a nice (if we say so ourselves) sound-portrait of him in 2005. It’s part of our New Orleans [Yawp] webwork.
Burt’s flute was recorded at Dave Brink’s 17 Poets January 2005. Here’s “Eluard Burt, NOLA” (5:28 mp3):
George Ingmire of WWOZ is playing a tribute to Eluard on his show today.
Eluard Burt touched many lives in diverse ways. He created prophetic zodiac charts in the 1970s for my entire family, which helped light the way through many uncertain days ahead. Thanks to his presence his light became a beacon to others through his art and his music. He was a highly evolved soul who will be remembered fondly and missed wistfully.

Mr. Eluard Burt was my teacher,my Spiritual guide,my musical mentor and my Friend! I miss him daily!
My spiritual guide, as well. He choreographed for St Augustine Catholic Church in New Orleans, reviving dance as a sacred art for Catholics after Henry VIII destroyed it.
