I lost my father last year. He was 87 years old. While his intellect was prodigious, his emotional skills were sometimes limited. During the two months of his final illness, we struggled to make up for lost time. Even though a lot was left unsaid, our mutual effort at kindness and compassion meant a lot to me. Listening to Dave Masch talk about his father and his son brought tears to my eyes. I hope that Dave knows that whatever he did was enough for his father and what he can’t now do for his son, he has done for many other people in the telling of his story.
